Colin Jackson is the latest addition to the KXAN First Warning Weather team.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba,Canada, Colin attended the University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg and graduated from Confederation College of Applied Arts & Technology in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He received a television broadcasting degree.
While still in Canada, Colin worked in Ottawa at the Parliamentary Network (Canada's C-SPAN) as an audio/visual technician. He also worked in Winnipeg as a Director/Technical Director at the Manitoba Television Network.
Colin moved to Los Angeles in 1989. While in California he graduated from California State University - Dominguez Hills with a major in Journalism and a minor in Audio Recording and Music Synthesis. He also worked for various news agencies including the ABC network and stations in Chico and Eureka California and Eugene Oregon. Colin also worked with the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings as a Sony Jumbotron statistician.
Colin is currently studying meteorology at the University of Mississippi by correspondence and will complete the program at the end of 2001.
Away from the station, Colin enjoys fly-Fishing, camping, cycling, snorkeling, roller-blading, NHL Hockey and both American and Canadian football.
