Jenna Cooper anchors News 36 Firstcast Saturday and Sunday and works as a reporter during the week. She joined News 36 in January of 2000 after anchoring the morning show at KIVI in Boise, Idaho for two years.
Before working at KIVI, Jenna worked at KTVZ in Bend, Oregon as the 5 p.m. anchor and a reporter.
Her first television experience came in Portland, Oregon when she worked for Northwest Cable News/KGW as an assignment editor and videojournalist/reporter for one year.
Jenna was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She graduated from the University of Oregon in Eugene with a B.A. in Political Science.
Jenna says she loves the news business "because there is something new everyday." She says she can never walk in the door and assume it will be business as usual. She also treasures the opportunities she has had to interview some incredible people.
Some of her fondest memories come from covering the Komen Race for Cure. Leading up to the race, Jenna talked with women and men who were diagnosed with breast cancer. To Jenna, their stories of courage were phenomenal and defined what it means to be strong. Jenna says their stories have changed the way she looks at life.
Jenna loves the great outdoors. Some of her favorite activities include skiing, hiking, camping and running.
