R.J. graduated with degrees in Finance and Journalism from the University of Maryland in College Park.

He has been with KXAN-TV since September 1996. R.J. is a general assignment reporter, who covers stories around Central Texas. He has also traveled around the state, for stories like the Republic of Texas standoff near Fort Davis.

In his spare time, he likes running and playing racquetball. He is also a huge music fan and enjoys Austin's vibrant entertainment scene.

R.J. came to Austin, from his first job as a reporter at WBOC-TV in Dover, Delaware, where he worked for two years.
