Dan Robertson

Dan Robertson Calling Austin home since attending the University of Texas in the late 70's, Dan has played the music scene at Maggie Mae's, deejayed at KLBJ and is most currently doing up the tube with his unique spin on the weather.

Dan chose meteorology as a result of an interest in science and an electrifying experience as a teenager when he was struck by lightning during a thunderstorm. He wasn't seriously injured -- but even today, Dan he still feels beckoned by the sound of thunder! His wife Diane and their three boys keep him pretty busy when he is not chasing storms.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Dan began his broadcasting career in the early 1980's as a producer and reporter for KLBJ- Radio in Austin. After working for KXAN-TV in 1988, Dan moved to East Texas where from 1989 - 1995, he was the Chief Meteorologist for KTRE-TV in Lufkin. While in Lufkin, he also wrote a weekly weather-related column for the East Texas Times. When K-EYE signed on in Austin in 1995, Dan came back to central Texas to be weather anchor for KEYE's morning and noon news programs as well as contributing to KEYE News as a reporter and website news editor. Dan came full-circle, back home to KXAN in August 2000, to weather anchor for Weekend Firstcast and cover science and environmental issues for News 36.

Dan is doing what he loves, forecasting the weather and making people laugh. His other passion -- music --combined with his love of the weather when he produced, played, and sang on his album Weather Songs in 1994. Although never on any top 40 list, many still enjoy the versatility of his cassette tape as a beverage coaster.
